HP Photosmart 5510 eAIO Printer Review
Date: January 23, 2012
Home and home office users on a budget who are in need of a new printer may want to think about one of HPs newest offerings, the Photosmart 5510 e-All-in-One. It is a 3-in-1 device, offering users the capability to print, scan, and copy. The unit measures 17.17 x 12.80 x 5.75 (WxDxH) and weighs just over 11lbs., so it wont take up a lot of real estate on a desk or table.
The paper handling on the 5510 is about what youd anticipate for any other printer in this price range. The tray can hold a maximum of 80 sheets at once and has a maximum monthly duty cycle of 1,000 pages. Unfortunately, the printer does not have the capability to print on both sides of a page.
The Photosmart 5510 features a four-cartridge ink system, not something generally found in a sub-$100 printer. The standard capacity black cartridge is rated for 250 pages, and each of the color cartridges (cyan, magenta, and yellow) are rated for 300. If you need more ink than that, the high-capacity black has an estimated yield of 550 pages, and each of the three colors have an estimated yield of 750 pages. All of these deliver and outstanding cost per page (CPP).
If youre looking for a budget-friendly printer, and can do without the duplexing, then this looks to be well worth it.
